Sometimes you get screwed with a closeout wine, sometimes
you hit gold. With this one, I was closer to the latter.
65% Napa Valley and 35% Sonoma Valley, this wine is pretty
spicy, with pepper, other spice, and berries (blackberry and
raspberry).
It's aged in both French and American oak, and is a
little bit more gamey than any other Zinfandel that I have
had, and it's quite lovely.
This wine would be great with any spiced meat, and I am
thinking a baked ham with the cloves cooked in.
