Sometimes, I have wine sitting around that I wind up not
tasting [or opening], because I am not in the mood, or not
expecting to be wowed. I have tasted most of the Lucky 7
releases, and while some weren't winners, a few were quite
surprises, especially the Carmenere (this is more or less a
wine for the masses).
This wine is great! It has hints of leather and wood, as
well as a strong belly of dark cherries and plums. The
tannins are very smooth as well.
The finish has a nice little kick to it, which is also a
pleasant surprise. It's like an extra burst of cherry.
