Most people don't realize the nobility of Cabernet Franc, which is oft used in Bordeaux blends, but don't try it to much on its own. And then there is Carmenere, which was oft mistaken for Merlot. The blend is 70% the former, and 30% the latter.

This wine has a strong dry smoky aspect to it which overtakes your palate. Great for steak. It also has some deep plum aspects, with almost a slight back hint of anise, making you think of licorice. The more I try it, the more I like it, as the air hitting it softens the taste up somewhat.

Thank you black sheep.

Our Mission: Better Wine For Less is focused on showcasing quality wines that are $30 or less in price, primarily as alternatives to the poor selections that are served in many eating establishments, clubs and parties that cost almost, if not exactly the same. Why drink crap, when you can drink better for less?
