You know, it's kind of weird when you can purchase a wine in a controlled state like Pennsylvania for less than the price in a non-controlled state, but this was the case with this wine. Even weirder was the fact that my spot in NJ has the red, but not the white, and that not only did I find both of them in PA, but in a state store with not a grest selection.

While I have been drinking the Chardonnay grape, either as a regular Chardonnay, or as a Chablis for years [and of course in sparkling wines], I only came across the Albarino grape in maybe the last two years. This wine, comprising 60% Chardonnay and 40% Albarino is an interesting concoction that gives you aspects of both, but also brings some interesting flavors that you would expect out of other white grapes, not necessarily either one of those.

The aroma is very floral, and as for taste, I keep walking away with both pineapples and maybe just a touch of passion fruit and apricots. The acidity is very subdued and sublime, and the finish holds for at least thirty seconds. Note that I actually had this with angel hair pasta with a red tomato sauce and lots of crush red pepper seeds and it went down smoothly.

This wine is definitely a winner, and should be something sure to entertain many a guest through the fall.

Our Mission: Better Wine For Less is focused on showcasing quality wines that are $30 or less in price, primarily as alternatives to the poor selections that are served in many eating establishments, clubs and parties that cost almost, if not exactly the same. Why drink crap, when you can drink better for less?
