I drank this wine with a friend that I started introducing to wines last year, and after his first sip, he talked about how he is making the transition away from always drinking sweet wines. Additionally, this was my second time drinking a wine with the Colombard grape in it.

Well, this wine has an interesting taste as it is 85% Colombard and the rest Chardonnay. While you definitely can taste something tropically citrus in this wine, the Colombard kind of blankets the overall experience with a drying finish, something that I was not expecting, not that I was expecting anything in particular anyway. Not that anything is wrong with that!

I would recommend this as an interim wine designed to get people who always like sweet, or even Pinot Grigio, a chance to move into other flavor profiles. It's not bad, and it actually went well with the spicy Chinese takeout that we had last night. I've had this company's sparkling Shiraz, and while they don't appear to be a firm with higher aspirations for making world class wines, I am expecting some great things from them.
